We’d like to welcome JonAnthony Hartley to the FWIWA team! The Myrtle Beach native is new to the appraisal industry, after earning his apprentice license a few months ago and starting here in early September 2023. He has a bright future here at FWIW!
Here are a few more questions he answered for us, so you all can get to know him more, too:
Q: What is your educational background and any training certifications?
A: I graduated from Wofford College in 2022 as a finance major and business minor and focused on taking classes centered around real estate finance. I’m new to the appraisal profession and have just recently earned my apprentice appraisal license a few months ago.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am originally from Myrtle Beach and have had the privilege of growing up here my whole life, which gives me a unique perspective on the growth our area has seen.
Q: Why did you choose to start your appraisal career at FWIW?
A: The great team of peers and many years of experience led me to work here at FWIW. My goal is to become a certified general appraiser.
Q: What do you like about what you do in this industry?
A: What I enjoy about this profession is getting to meet new people every day, as well as being faced with new challenges and the attention to detail that each property entails.
Q: Any personal info you’re willing to share, such as any hobbies that keep you busy when you’re not working?
A: I am 23 years old. My family is in the hotel, restaurant, and hospitality business in Myrtle Beach, so I have always grown up in the service and hospitality industry. When I am not working, I try to spend as much of my time outdoors as possible. I enjoy spending time inshore and offshore fishing along the coast here in South Carolina.
